The chop shop

...what if I just chopped this up a bit?

That put me in a good mood again, but I knew if I got the old hacksaw out I'd do exactly that - hack it up, so I jumped in the car and headed down to the local chop shop where they make steel security doors and professional kitchen stuff, and talked them into a couple of minutes with their blow torch guy.

Now I had a perfect sized chassis, it was definitely cheap, and it was cut to exact dimensions, but it had no holes, so I popped around the corner to my tube guru Mr. Wang's shop, where I knew he'd let me borrow his drill, and I ran into Xiao Lio, a friend I had made hanging around talking tubes, and wiring up stuff. Xiao Lio was a high school principal by day, but an avid hi-fi amp builder by night. He asked me what I was doing with my precious piece of scrap metal, and I told him about my Marshall wannabe project, and within a few minutes we had the face all taped up, the holes marked, and he started drilling away for me. Just like that.
